Valvoline sold their products business to Aramco, the second largest company in the world, in 2023. The $2.65bb transaction allowed Aramco to grow their lubricants business globally. After dominating the oil markets for decades, Aramco now accelerates another one of their most profitable business lines. Valvoline’s business dates back to 1866! Their retail and products businesses will now operate as separate entities.

 

What will the right person find attractive about the role?

The right person will appreciate taking the lead Income Tax role for a well-known, established business that has been a major player in its sector for over 100 years. VGP outsources its income tax compliance and reporting function to EY. The Tax Director will manage the outsource, and work as the go-between Aramco and their international entities. The person exiting this role implemented tremendous systems to automate the income tax compliance and reporting work. The new hire should aim to spend more of their time building effective relationships across the enterprise.

 

What is the company looking for?

The company is looking for someone with Big Four and/or Fortune 1000 experience. Global Tax exposure is a big plus, heavy Tax Accounting experience is a must. Importantly, the company needs someone to be onsite 3 days/week in Lexington, KY. The local market is scarce, they are interested in acquiring someone to commute into Lexington during the week from Cincy, Louisville or other markets nearby.
